Hillhout - Lapland Log Cabin
Hillhout's Log Cabins are manufactured from managed Scandinavian pine-forests. These forests produce straight, regularly formed pine tree stems, which in turn produce quality, solid log cabins. All cabins in our Hillhout range are now supplied FULLY PRESSURE-TREATED. Please note that this will add a slight colouration to the timber which can be over-painted if required.

Our Hillhout range of log cabins is extensive. Dozens of models are available, but when combined with the matching log cabin accessories, hundreds of of variations are possible. Each model is manufactured with 28mm log boards, and glass windows are supplied as standard.

Optional extras include, pressure impregnated floors, flower boxes, roof shingles, guttering & drain-pipes etc. Scroll down to the infopanel for full details.

Quality Construction
All buildings are manufactured using 28mm log boards. The cabin is assembled by means of a piling up system, where the boards are laid on each other. Each board is half-checked, and when assembled a very strong building is created. Tongue and groove timber boards form the roof, with decorative green felt shingles.

Pressure Impregnated Timber
All the buildings in the Hillhout range are now supplied pressure-impregnated. This is an extremely effective process ensuring that your building remains rot-free for many years. The pressure-treatment used has an attractive green/brown tinge, however you can easily apply a decorative treatment of your choice. These log cabins also have pressure treated ground contact bearers as standard, and a pressure-impregnated floor. Please note that the main photo shows the cabin as supplied previously with un-treated boards. Accessories shown are for photographic purposes only.

Doors and Locking System
Doors are supplied pre-glazed and ready to use, with quality hinges, locks and designer handles. All doors are hinged on the left as standard.

Straight-forward Assembly
These buildings are supplied in an easy to assemble kit. Only basic tools are required, and no professional experience is necessary. Normally 2 people can complete the installation in 1 day, but an erecting service may also be available at an extra charge (depending on your area) if required. Please ask when placing your order. A solid, level base (preferably concrete) is essential.

For a long lifespan, you should treat your timber products regularly with a high quality preservative. Moisture dictates the amount that wood expands and contracts, and natural cracks and knots may appear. This is a completely natural occurrence which gives wood it's unique character, and is not be classed as an imperfection or flaw. Generally, plastic or metal sheds are not supplied with a floor as standard, and may be prone to condensation.
